Linguine with fresh tomato sauce
I planted some basil a couple weeks ago, and I wanted to trim them back to send some of the energy back into the roots and encourage the plants to bush out more. Hm, what to do with the basil? Dry-farmed Early Girl tomatoes at the farmer’s market made my decision for me. Fresh tomato sauce is the perfect showcase for summer bounty.
I’d like to say mine was as tasty as my friend Orazio’s, but I need to keep working at it. I skipped the part where he sauteed celery and onion for flavor first. Next time!
